Our visionary founder, Teresa Stump, Ed.S., is a seasoned educator with 30 years of experience in the public school system. Teresa has dedicated her career to the betterment of education, having taught a diverse range of students, including those with special needs and gifted individuals. Her extensive background includes teaching third grade, fifth grade, alternative education administration, and homeschooling.
Teresa's deep commitment to revolutionizing education led her to establish Learning to Lead Education Center. Her passion for providing a more tailored and effective learning experience is at the core of our mission. As a dedicated advocate for student-focused, research-based education, Teresa is the driving force behind our innovative approach. Her vision and leadership guide our efforts to transform education and empower students to think critically and independently.

Renèe Silvestro resides in DeWitt, Virginia with her husband and 2 boys, ages 12 and 14. Renèe is a dedicated educator with 26 years of experience in elementary education. Graduating from California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, she has made a significant impact in Title One schools, teaching students from kindergarten through fourth grade.
Her versatility shines through as she's taught in inclusion classes and provided enriching experiences for gifted and talented students. With a passion for nurturing young minds, Renee continues to inspire and empower students to reach their full potential.
We are delighted to introduce Lisa Ross, our dedicated School Counselor at Learning to Lead. Dr. Ross brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our educational community.
Dr. Ross is a licensed school counselor in Virginia and holds the title of a Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Her career in education spans over two decades, during which she served as the School Counseling Department Chair at Salem Church Middle School and Carver Academy via Chesterfield County Public Schools. Throughout her career, Dr. Ross has focused on developing personal, social, academic, and career plans for students of all ages.
After retiring from Chesterfield County Public Schools, Dr. Ross expanded her work into behavior support specialist roles, primarily assisting students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). She also holds the distinction of being a Certified Autism Specialist.
In addition to her role at Learning to Lead, Dr. Ross currently serves as the Clinical Director of New Leaf Teletherapy, LLC. In this capacity, she manages and hires therapists who provide counseling services to clients across more than 25 states.
Beyond her school counseling and therapy work, Dr. Ross runs a private practice and consults with a forensic neuropsychology clinic based in Texas. Her extensive credentials extend to her status as a licensed mental health clinician in several states, including FL, NC, PA, SC, TX, VA, and VT.
Dr. Lisa Ross's dedication to supporting and guiding students in their educational and personal journeys makes her a valuable asset to our Learning to Lead team. We are proud to have her as our School Counselor, helping students thrive and succeed in their academic and personal growth.
A proud lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, Trey Lucy graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 1993. Currently serving as a Financial Crimes Senior Investigator for Truist Bank, Trey brings over 27 years of invaluable experience from his tenure at the Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Office, where he retired in January 2022.
Trey's extensive career at the sheriff’s office included a role as an investigator since 2008. A certified law enforcement officer and tactical officer, he is also a distinguished graduate of the Virginia Forensic Science Academy. Since 2009, Trey has held the esteemed position of Central Director for the Virginia Forensic Science Academy Alumni Association. Notably, he is a founding member of the Dinwiddie Aviation Response Team (D.A.R.T.) program.
Beyond his professional achievements, Trey is deeply committed to community service. He understands the critical importance of school security and safety, reflecting his lifelong dedication to the well-being of Dinwiddie residents.
Married to Tammy Lucy, a dedicated teacher with Dinwiddie County Public Schools, Trey is a proud father to Madeline. Madeline, a Dinwiddie High School graduate, is currently pursuing her education on a full-time basis. The Lucy family is actively involved in the community, with Trey serving as a past-president and current treasurer of his men’s group at Lebanon United Methodist Church in Dinwiddie.
Trey's commitment to family extends to his role as the founding team captain of the All Pro Dads chapters at Dinwiddie Middle, Dinwiddie, and Sutherland Elementary Schools. This faith-based fatherhood program is designed to keep dads engaged in our schools. Additionally, Trey is a devoted 23-year member of the Dinwiddie Ruritan Club.
In every aspect of his life, Trey Lucy exemplifies a passion for service, community engagement, and ensuring the safety and well-being of those around him.
